Malfunctioning Garbage Disposals… No Longer an Issue.

Commercial-Disposal-Alternative-SliderWhen it comes to great food, our friends at Hot Suppa! know their way around the kitchen, and trust me most of Portland knows this, which is why this restaurant is one of the hottest spots in Maine. Hot Suppa! is located in an 1860 brick Victorian on the West End. With high ceilings, brick walls, and original moldings, the unique character of this building compliments the american classics they offer down to the last bite. Being such a historic and vintage location, the dishwasher is located below the water lines, which presented a serious issue when it came down to sewage  water flow problems such as a restaurant garbage disposal backing up the dishwasher, or a garbage disposal leaking water. Due to their dishwashers location, water has to flow out of the building and get pumped up to the lines, so “it is critical for the pipes to stay clean, otherwise we’d be out of business” said Alec Sabina, one of the owners of this gastronomic wonderland.

Before Alec switched to The Drain Strainer, he was using a sink strainer to filter food from his water, but he found himself getting clogged up because there was not enough surface area for all of the gunk in the water.  When he contracted a plumber to come fix the problem he recommended a garbage disposal, but after some careful consideration he decided against it due to all of the costs that a malfunctioning garbage disposal implies.

After much thought on what he could do to fix his problem Alec decided to find his own solution, and after playing around with ideas he decided to do a little research on Google, and that’s how he stumbled upon Brian Ash’s product.  “Maybe if Brian hadn’t invented it I would have” he joked… maybe he would have, they sure had the same concept in mind.

“I would highly recommend this product to anyone who doesn’t want to deal with the headache of clogged pipes and maintenance costs” -Alec Sabina

Once you purchase The Drain Strainer and install it there really isn’t anything else to do with it besides emptying the strainer daily, and placing the contents with the rest of their compost. The Drain Strainer needs no maintenance, uses no energy, and is safe to use… this product presents no conflicts or headaches, it is the perfect instrument for any business that wants to stay ahead of the competition and stay ahead of the curve with innovative equipment.
