The face of the Corinth Square Shopping Center has changed quite a bit over the last couple of years.  One thing has remained consistent however.  Hattie’s Fine Coffee has occupied the same small space at the end of a row of stores on the north end of the Prairie Village shopping center since 1999.  The quaint little coffee shop owned and operated  by David Copeland and his wife Gretchen, specializes in hand roasting single origin beans in small batches.  They believe this is the only way to make the finest coffee in town.  The couple puts a lot of love into what they do.  The friendly shop is home to many early morning business professionals and Shawnee Mission East study groups.Hattie's_#1

This year they’ve roasted 3531 lbs of coffee and still counting.  Hattie’s also offers a variety of pastries, smoothies and breakfast sandwiches to get more than just your brain going in the morning.  I stopped by the shop yesterday for a coffee to go and I asked Gretchen what she will be recommending to customers this fall once it turns a bit chilly?  She made me one of her favorite drinks to warm the soul.  Hattie’s s’more mocha is a smooth chocolatey coffee creation that is sure to please your taste buds but don’t forget to wipe your foam mustache off.  In the mean time before fall sets in, make sure to stop by Hattie’s for an iced coffee and a friendly smile to get your day going.
