Read MoreThe two things you can never have too many of, shoes & Pizza. Now lets be honest a pizza just sounds like hmm “bleh…..” We could even say the industry is overdone. And when we think of the best Kansas City Pizza we think Minsky’s right? Wrong, there’s new player in town! Just like its sister restaurant Piropos, TANGO Pizza uses nothing but the best ingredients and imports unique cheeses and spices straight from Argentina.
Nestled in the piano bar located below Piropos, TANGO pizza is the newest member of Briarcliff Village. Opening at 11Am Monday through Saturday Tango Pizza offers soups, salads, empanadas and, of course, Argentina Style Pizza. Tango Pizza is part of Piropos Restaurant which means not only can you order terrific food but hear live music often times too.
Tango Pizza now has several TVs so you can catch up with news and sports during your lunch break, and menu prices start at $1.50 for empanadas, freshly made soup and salad for $5.99 and a choice of 10 different Argentine Pizzas and a drink for $8.99. The Pizza is freshly made to order with those first class imported Argentine ingredients.
Argentine cuisine has been strongly influenced by Italian cuisine, the typical Argentine diet is a variation on the Mediterranean diet. Italian staple dishes like pizza and pasta are very common. This is because around 60% of Argentina’s population is of Italian descent. Thats 25 million people! And If you’ve ever been to Argentina you would know what I mean, some areas are like a little slice of Italy… architecture and all.
These delicious 7 inch mouthwatering creations can be made on a crispy flatbread or a more doughy original base, and the toppings are to die for. We will start with my favorite one, La Boca, which is made with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Goat Cheese, Spinach, Mushrooms, Onions & Mozzarella.
Estancia: Robust Tomato Sauce, Chorizo, Prosciutto, Mushrooms & Mozzarella
Mar de Plata: Bechamel Sauce, Shrimp, Scallops, Crab, Red Onions & Provolone
Pampas: Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Oregano, Mushrooms, Onions, Bacon & Five Cheese Blend
Frances Delight: Robust Tomato Sauce, Chicken, Bacon, Onions, & Five Cheese Blend.
Salta: Robust Tomato Sauce, Beef, Bell Peppers, Onion, Stilton & Mozzarella.
Andes: Brie Fondue, Chicken, Spinach, Red Bell Peppers & Provolone
Mexicana: Robust Tomato Sauce, Chipotle, Bef, Red Onions, Mushrooms, Queso Fresco & Five Cheese Blend
Buenos Aires: Robust Tomato Sauce, Pancetta, Prosciutto, Caramelized Onions & Provolone
Margarita: Extra Virgin Fresh Tomato Basil & Mozzarella
Cristina’s: Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Onions, Mozzarella, Oregano & Aji Molido.
To all of the above you can add empanadas, soups or salads or a dessert, the possibilities are endless, but you can bank on it being delicious and made with the best of ingredients. Ten months young TANGO pizza has had great success and is picking up business quickly, so come get one of these pizza’s and join the Argentine movement in sweeping Kansas City.
You can call in your order and do carry out, you can also come in and sit down, book them for an event as your caterer or get boxed lunches for your next office luncheon, this place does it all, and they do it with Charisma and Flair.
Thanks Ray! My La Boca pizza was delicious! Let me tell you, this man can cook! But not only can he make great pizzas but he’s one of the great cooks at both Piropos locations. So if you love Piropos, you’ll love TANGO.
Check Tango out next time you’re in Briarcliff Village, better yet, make the drive out there its worth it. It’s inexpensive, delicious and ready when you are.
